Please and Thank You: Part I

November 14, 2005 By JayMonster 1 Comment

I have a strong desires to make the world a better place, “one person at a time.” Part of my plan, is always being courteous. I have tried to instill this in my daughter, and this story which took place this past October tells me that I am getting through.

I took LatteKid Trick O’ Treating Halloween Night. (She got two separate chances to load up on candy, in the afternoon with DietCokeWife and at night with me).

We get to one House, and while the lady there answered the door, and was handing out candy, she looked none to pleased doing so. The exchange went something like this:

Kid: “Trick or Treat”

Lady: “Here ya go”

Kid: “Thank You!”

Lady: incoherent mumbling

Kid: “The proper response is, ‘You’re Welcome'”

Review: Chicken Little

November 7, 2005 By JayMonster 1 Comment

If you are one of the 10 or so parents that did not take your child to see Chicken Little this past weekend (as I did) or are a fan of Animated movies (as I am), then let me tell you now:

Wow, did this movie s**k!

Unfortunately based on the Box Office, Disney may think they have a hit, and decide that they can go it alone in the Animated Movie Genre. I am here to tell you nothing is further from the truth. If I were an Executive at the House of Mouse, I would be desperately renewing talks to get Pixar Animations back into the fold.

My suggestion, wait for video… no wait longer. Wait until the video comes out + about 1 week, then start scanning eBay, Half.com or Amazon for used copies around the $1.99 range.

The movie is too scary for the under 6 crown, not entertaining enough for say 10 and above. Best audience that will enjoy the humor of this movie is the 7-9 crowd, where things like farting cause uncontrolable laughter.

And Gary Marshall. My goodness, he almost single handedly destroys whatever fun was in this movie, with a simply awful performance. Gary should stay BEHIND the camera where he belongs, and if he MUST get in front of a camera (or microphone, as in this case), keep it to small cameos like in A League of Their Own. Zach Braff and Joan Cusak are good, very good, and their comedic timing is excellent together, but it is not enough to keep Chicken Little from laying an egg.

Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Welcome To My World

November 1, 2005 By JayMonster Leave a Comment

Who is the LatteMan?

Well, I am a 40 year old father of one adorable angel that is the light of my life.

She gives meaning to each day.

But the fuel required to actually get me going is (at least during the holidays), a Triple Venti Gingerbread Latte.

Some may know me from other blogs, past and present. Some of which are not Work Safe or Family Safe, and some that are political in nature. This is more of a mainstream attempt to chronicle the my life.

There are a million stories on the naked web. This is mine.
