It is that time of year. Back to School sales and the like reminding you that school is only “just around the corner.” And that is bad enough. But as LatteGirl has gotten more involved in other activities, I have noticed that a lot of them seem to coincide with the start of the school year.
So not only do we need to prepare for Back to School, it is also, back to Soccer, Back to Dance Class, Back to Karate, and so on. Am I the only one finding this daunting? Isn’t there a chance that they could, you know, spread things about a bit? Maybe somebody start, oh I dunno, maybe the SECOND WEEK in September! Is that really too much to ask?
Forget the Holidays, Labor Day Weekend is turning into my new version of “Black Friday.”
Oh, and while I am complaining about this, would it be too much to ask to have the stores run their back to school sales, somewhere closer to the school year? Last Week of July? First week of August? Do none of these people consider that some people actually take vacations in the summer?
Now I understand there are those of you that plan ahead and don’t wait for the last minute, but to make room for all the back to school stuff, they have to close out their “summer sections” way too early. And somehow, it has become impossible to find a pool toy or back yard game after 4th of July weekend.
I know, I know, I am all over the place. But suddenly I feel like I am hunkering down to do battle with the “overscheduled” monster again, and I am just not ready.
And while I am at it… Where the heck did summer go?
