For the second year (first “officially” as a member of the Movember Foundation), I am participating in both the Mustache in Movember , and also the new Move in Movember program.
But I guess I have yet to answer the question of “Why?” As I get older, I like most start paying more attention to my health, and in doing so, I learn a few things. Some good, and some concerning. Things like, Prostate Cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in men. It is estimated that more than 220,000 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer this year alone, and they say that someone dies every 19 minutes from Prostate Cancer. And while incidents of Testicular cancer is nowhere near as prevalent, the fact is that annual incidents of Testicular Cancer have more than doubled over the past 50 years.  And while it is a topic that is often swept under the rug, it is important to bring to the discussion that 87 American men take their life by suicide every day.
So in an effort to bring attention to this (and hopefully to a lesser extent, raise a few bucks for research), I will be growing a mustache for Movember, and will (more than usual) step up my exercise to Move in Movember.  You can follow my progress in the Mustache in Movember and “The ‘Stache” here and on Instagram and you can follow my Move In Movember progress here or on Facebook.
If you wish to participate (Mo Sistas are equally welcome to participate in the Move in Movember with the Mo Bros), or make a donation you can check out my page at http://mobro.co/JayMonster65
