From the Island of Corporate Stupidity – It seems that Comcast is warning bandwidth hogs that if they continue to use “too much” bandwidth, the risk violating Comcast’s Terms of Service. Only problem. They won’t actually tell anybody what the limit is, so there is no way of knowing if you are at risk of violating those terms.
What the Poop? – A school Principal pleads guilty to throwing feces at a student. Not that this can get any worse than that, but according to the report, the prosecutor in the case, has recommended a “full discharge” which would leave her with no criminal record for the incident, so long as she promises to have no contact with the students (she only admitted to one, but charges were brought for two cases).
And nobody thought something was wrong? – A possible family feud may have led to the listing of a hoax ad listed on the popular Craigslist, saying that anybody could come and take whatever was in an open house for free.
Lots of people saw or heard about the offer and chaos ensued. Neighbors say they saw strangers pull up and haul away all sorts of stuff. Nearly everything of value has been stripped. Light fixtures, mirrors, baseboards, the hot water heater, cabinets, even the kitchen sink.
Not a single neighbor thought something was wrong and called police? The owner doesn’t know anybody around that may have had a cell phone number or something to say something is amiss? And to make an already bad situation worse, since it is believed to be a “family matter” the Tocoma police will not investigate the incident since they have determined it to be a “civil matter.”
Hang her out to dry! – A substitute teacher will be “disciplined” (anything short of fired would not be satisfactory to me if I lived in this area) after admitting to using clothespins on the lips as punishment for talkative Kindergarten kids. Honestly. I love teachers, I really do. They have to put up with so much and do so much for kids. But I honestly don’t understand this rash of stories over the past couple of years of teachers just pulling the most incredibly stupid stunts.
Snap This! – I have for some reason, not gone on much of a rant about how much I hate Snap.com and their Snap Previews. Mostly I guess because I become irrationally angry whenever I even hear it being mentioned. Fortunately, now I don’t have to as John from flagrantdisregard has done such a fine job, in Snap Preview Anywhere, scourge of the internet. He is even kind enough to share a solution, so you never have to see it again.
